How This All Came About
Welcome to the 365 Motivation Blog! I am your host, chief editor, & moderator, Malik Three Sixty-Five. The purpose of this blog is for us to share stories with each other in an effort to support our goals, dreams & “new beginnings”. Help others in tough situations rise into great achievements and persevere. Sometimes it’s just that one voice tha enables us to stand up straight and go after whatever it is we really want. I’ve had my experience with that “voice” and I’ll share shortly.
Towards the end of 2016 my life was in ruins. I was really affected by the death of both Prince and my ex-girlfriend moving away. On top of that it seemed all of my heroes were dying. 80’s icon’s like David Bowie, Ron Glass, people that defined my teenage years. By this time my career was at a standstill. My fake friends began to reveal themselves and I found myself alone sitting on my couch two days after I had totaled my car. I’m not sure if I can come back from this adversity. I’m 45 years old and I’m no more in control of my life than I was at 9. These were all of the thoughts going through my head at this time.
I turned on the TV and had no clue on what I wanted to watch. So I picked up my phone and did a search for “Best Documentaries 2016”. I had seen “generation Iron” and I had enjoyed it but it was no way I was anywhere near those guys. Then I saw it “My Magnificent Obsession”, the story of C.T. Fletcher. I had no clue who that was but it had just made it to Netflix. So I started the movie and I was taken in. That voice said to me that I had no excuses to not be living the best life possible. Because his philosophy, ISYMFS(It’s Still Your Muthafuckin’ Set) means that if you wake up in the morning you have a chance to change your life and make it the way you want it to be. The past is not important.
I felt as if a weight had literally been lifted off of me. I re-dedicated my to be a healthy, fit life. A life where I would take risks and help other people who wanted my help to do the same. That was about 10 months ago. I went to the gym and I worked my ass off to the sum of a sustainable 30 lbs. weight loss. I’ve dropped 9% body fat. I still have a long way to go but that’s why I need a community. Anyone looking to support, please feel free to reach me on social media or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the most, my post will be about health, fitness and entrepreneurship. There are other ways we can motivate each other and if you would like to contribute let me know. Wow! My first post is done. I hope you enjoyed it.
